Five Star Ford of Lewisville Wins F&I Dealer of the Year Award

LAS VEGAS — Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford of Lewisville (Texas) was named F&I and Showroom’s 2016 F&I Dealer of the Year. Sponsored by The Warranty Group for the sixth consecutive year, the award was handed out last Wednesday, Aug. 31, during the magazine’s annual conference in Las Vegas.

Accepting the award on behalf of the dealership was Sue Bowman. And according to Five Star Ford of Lewisville’s community relations manager, the award topped off an eventful day and year for the dealership.

“This is amazing. Thank you so much for this award,” Bowman said after accepting the award. “This just made my day … I got a call just before we came in here that our dealership had won best dealership and best new-car dealership in Denton County. So I have worked all year for that, and with this, it’s pretty good to be me right now.”

Now in its 16th year, the F&I Dealer of the Year award is handed out annually to an operation with a highly profitable F&I department that demonstrates a commitment to regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. Five Star Ford of Lewisville was one of six finalists, or what the magazine’s calls F&I Pacesetters, vying for this year’s award.

The Lewisville, Texas, operation is part of Five Star Ford of Texas Inc., a group that consists of four Ford dealerships located in the sprawling Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. The group was founded in 1980 by Sam Pack, a former Ford Credit employee who was named the TIME Quality Dealer of the Year in 1988.

The dealership’s F&I department is managed by F&I Director Tom Andrews, whose F&I team averages well north of $1,5000 per copy on new and more than $1,200 on used. In 2015, the dealership was awarded Ford Partners in Quality, Ford Credit’s highest honor for customer satisfaction and loyalty.

“It’s never easy selecting the F&I Dealer of the Year, but this year was especially difficult,” said Gregory Arroyo, editorial director of F&I and Showroom and Auto Dealer Today. “This year’s field of F&I Pacesetters included San Diego County’s Best Auto Mall, as voted on by readers of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Wisconsin’s Top Dealer, as voted on by viewers of WISN TV, multiple winners of Edmunds.com’s and DealerRater’s top customer satisfaction awards, and a dealership that adopted and helped turn around a high-crime neighborhood in Abilene, Texas.

“In November, readers will discover why Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford of Lewisville is this year’s F&I Dealer of the Year,” Arroyo added.

Five Star Ford of Lewisville will grace the cover of F&I and Showroom’s November issue, which will also include a four-page profile on the dealership. To learn more about this year’s F&I Pacesetters as well as Five Star Ford, click here.

F&I and Showroom Now Accepting F&I Dealer of the Year Nominations

TORRANCE — The search for F&I and Showroom’s next F&I Dealer of the Year starts today. Dealers, agents, F&I product providers, finance sources and technology vendors have until Friday, July 8, to nominate their dealership or client.

To complete the online nomination form, click here. Supporting materials for a nominee, such as newspaper clippings or awards announcements, can be emailed to email hidden; JavaScript is required.

“We’re not necessarily looking for that $1,500-per-copy F&I operation, although we’ve had a few F&I Dealers of the Year performing at that level,” said Gregory Arroyo, editorial director of F&I and Showroom and Auto Dealer Today. “What we’re looking for is the story behind the numbers. Is the dealership committed to regulatory compliance? Has the F&I team been together a long time? What does the organization’s online reviews and ratings look like? Is it active in the communities it serves?”

For the sixth straight year, The Warranty Group is sponsoring the competition. “It is with great pleasure that we once again sponsor this award,” said Charlie Robinson, President and COO of Resource Automotive, a subsidiary of The Warranty Group. “What I most appreciate about this award is that it recognizes not only top-performing F&I operations, but organizations that do it the right way, are committed to the communities they serve, and exemplify the very best this industry has to offer.”

The magazine will first select six finalists, or what F&I and Showroom refers to as F&I Pacesetters of the Year. A representative from each organization will be invited to Industry Summit 2016 (Aug. 29-31), where they’ll be honored during a special ceremony. They’ll also receive a two-night stay at the Paris Las Vegas, the site of this year’s conference, and a complimentary full-conference pass.

Dealerships selected as F&I Pacesetters will also be profiled in the magazine’s special conference issue and the September edition of F&I and Showroom magazine.

At the conclusion of the special ceremony, one finalist will be named the 2016 F&I Dealer of the Year. That dealership will appear on the cover of the magazine’s November issue, which will include a four-page profile on the organization. F&I Dealer of the Year: Call for Nominations

F&I and Showroom magazine is now accepting nominations for its F&I Dealer of the Year award. Sponsored by Resource Automotive, the award is handed out annually to a dealership touting a highly profitable F&I department that also demonstrates a commitment to a customer-centric F&I process.

Dealership employees, general agents, F&I product providers and technology makers are encouraged to nominate their dealerships and customers for the award. Entries must be received by Aug. 12, 2011.

“We’ve had mega dealer groups, small dealer groups and single-point stores as past winners,” said Gregory Arroyo, the magazine’s executive editor. “We’re simply looking for a high-performing F&I department that can show us a commitment to regulatory compliance, ethics and a customer-centric sales and F&I process. If that’s your dealership, then nominate it today.”

Past winners of the award include Tuttle-Click Automotive Group, Pro Chrysler Jeep, The Suburban Collection and Riverside Auto Group.

The magazine will first select five F&I Pacesetters of the Year (also sponsored by Resource Automotive), which will serve as finalists for the coveted F&I Dealer of the Year trophy.
