2016 Reinsurance Symposium Takes Shape

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit have announced that the Reinsurance Symposium, which has become a fixture since it was first spun off into a pre-conference event in 2013, will return for a fourth consecutive year.

Agent Summit will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas, and the Reinsurance Symposium begins at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9. General Agents with a full show pass will be invited to attend the Reinsurance Symposium for no additional charge.

“I am a huge fan of the Reinsurance Symposium, and I’m happy our advisory board has positioned it so prominently in the Agent Summit agenda,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “Agents and agency principals who bring expertise in reinsurance to their dealer clients hold a very tangible competitive edge.”

This year’s symposium will include a meet-and-greet with reinsurance sponsors, a keynote address by Jim Smith, founder and CEO of SouthwestRe, and two 45-minute educational sessions. Gesualdo said more information on speakers and sessions will be announced this week.

Portfolio and SouthwestRe are the lead sponsors for this year’s Reinsurance Summit. They are joined by premier sponsors CNA National, GSFSGroup, Protective Asset Protection and Delaware Tribal Financial Services and general sponsors BOK Financial, Cornerstone Financial Consulting (div. Raymond James) and SunTrust Reinsurance Trust Services.

“As in years past, our sponsors will make the Reinsurance Symposium possible and our speakers will make it a success,” Gesualdo said. “We believe it’s one of the best educational opportunities our industry has to offer.”

Registration for Agent Summit is now open at the event’s website as well as by phone, fax and email. Attendees who register by April 4 will enjoy a $100 discount.

Registration Open for Agent Summit 2016

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the sixth annual Agent Summit have announced that registration is now open for the event, which will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

Citing “unprecedented demand,” show chair and Agent Entrepreneur publisher David Gesualdo said all of the exhibit space and most of the sponsorships are already sold.

“I get the sense our attendees and supporters look at the upcoming Agent Summit as a continuation of last year’s show,” Gesualdo said. “I believe it’s a symptom of the prosperity and fluidity of our industry at this time.”

The event set new records for attendance, sponsorship and exhibit space in 2015, when nearly 900 agents, agency heads, speakers and exhibitors converged on the Venetian Palazzo, which hosted Agent Summit for the first time last year.

Registration is open online as well as by phone, fax and email. Those who register by April 4 will enjoy a $100 discount.

Nomination Deadline for F&I Dealer of the Year Announced

TORRANCE, Calif. — F&I and Showroom magazine has announced the deadline to nominate dealers for its 2015 F&I and Dealer of the Year award. Nominations must be received by July 31, 2015, and the winner will be announced at this year’s Industry Summit, scheduled for Sept. 8-10 at the Paris Las Vegas

Dealership employees, general agents, F&I product providers and technology vendors can complete an online nomination form to nominate their dealerships and dealer clients. Supporting materials for a nominee, such as newspaper clippings or awards announcements, can be emailed to email hidden; JavaScript is required.

“Once again, we’re looking for a highly profitable F&I department that demonstrates a commitment to regulatory compliance, ethics and a customer-centric F&I process,” said Gregory Arroyo, editorial director of F&I and Showroom magazine. “If that describes your dealership, then nominate it today.”

Serving as the sponsor of the award for the fifth straight year is The Warranty Group and their Resource Dealer Group. “We are again proud to sponsor F&I and Showroom’s F&I Pacesetter and F&I Dealer of the Year awards — recognizing those dealerships with outstanding F&I performance that consistently deliver customer satisfaction and a commitment to regulatory compliance.” said Charlie Robinson, president and COO of Resource Automotive, a subsidiary of The Warranty Group Inc. “Keep up the good work and best of luck to all this year.”

Arroyo added: “I’d just like to thank Charlie and his team for once again sponsoring this award. It means a lot to us at the magazine. Their support once again illustrates the company’s commitment to the F&I industry.”

The magazine will first select five F&I Pacesetters of the Year, which will serve as finalists for the coveted F&I Dealer of the Year award. A representative from each of the finalists will then be invited to Industry Summit 2015, where they’ll be honored during a special ceremony to open the magazine’s conference. They’ll also receive a two-night stay at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel, the site of this year’s conference, and a complimentary full-conference pass.

Those selected as F&I Pacesetters will also be profiled in the magazine’s special conference issue and the September edition of F&I and Showroom magazine.

At the conclusion of the special ceremony, one finalist will be named the 2015 F&I Dealer of the Year. That dealership will appear on the cover of the magazine’s November issue, which will include a four-page profile on the dealership’s sales and F&I operations. Past winners of the F&I Dealer of the Year award include Vaden Automotive Group, Serpentini Chevrolet of Strongsville, Lithia Motors Inc., Riverside Auto Group, The Suburban Collection, Tuttle-Click Automotive Group, and Vaden Automotive Group.

Midwest Compliance Summit Promises ‘Can’t-Miss’ Agenda

CHICAGO — Organizers of Compliance Summit, a series of regional events dedicated to front-end compliance, have announced that the agenda for the Midwest event is nearing completion and will feature high-profile compliance experts and thought leaders. The conference is scheduled for April 20–21, 2015, at the DoubleTree Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.

“This will be an event to remember for those who attend,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Monthly and F&I and Showroom magazines. “We look forward to bringing the talent, expertise and boots-on-the-ground experience dealers need to tackle this very difficult subject.”

April 21 will feature a full day of sessions divided into four key topic headings: Rules and Regulations, Your Responsibilities, Easy-to-Implement Processes and Controls and Is This Compliant? The last will be an open-forum discussion among speakers and attendees. Robert Harkins, vice president and director of training for AFG Training Academy, will serve as master of ceremonies.

The welcome address, “Dealer Beware,” will be delivered by Randy Crisorio, president and CEO of United Development Systems Inc. (UDS). Crisorio, a Chicago native, is expected to review recent and ongoing actions taken against dealers by state and federal regulators, including the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

“Having experienced the quality of content exchanged in the first Compliance Summit and the tenor of the regulatory bodies involved in our business, I anticipate a lot of interest in attending and a heavy dose of growing useful information,” Crisorio said.
