Auto/Mate Now Integrated Into DealerOps

ALBANY, N.Y.—Auto/Mate Dealership Systems today announced that its dealership management system (DMS) is now fully integrated with the DealerOps platform.

Auto/Mate, the company noted, is a DMS solution that is ideal for large auto groups and single-store franchises. DealerOps designs custom, mobile-friendly web applications that provide dealers with enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.

As part of the integration, dealerships that use both vendors’ solutions will now receive automatic and seamless updates from their Auto/Mate Automotive Management Productivity Suite (AMPS) software into their DealerOps Platform.

“The DealerOps Platform and its powerful reporting engine allow auto dealers to instantly view their metrics and data while giving them an important ‘big picture’ overview with drill down into the finer details. The DealerOps Platform provides the tools dealerships need to not only monitor performance, but to also improve operational efficiencies across the board,” said Mike Esposito, president and CEO of Auto/Mate.

Traffic Control’s Product Suite Now Available Through Auto/Mate’s DMS

ALBANY, N.Y. — Auto/Mate announced this week plans to integrate Traffic Control’s customer relationship management (CRM), internet lead management (ILM) and employee activity management (EAM) systems into its own dealership management system (DMS).

The integration, officials claimed, should deliver enhanced sales, lead and productivity management capabilities to users of both Auto/Mate and Traffic Control solutions.

“Traffic Control’s employee activity management system takes CRM and ILM functionality to another level, because it gives dealership employees both a destination and directions on how to get there,” said Mike Esposito, president and CEO of Auto/Mate Dealership Systems. “Employees are assigned specific tasks so their productivity has a purpose, instead of just doing busywork that doesn’t get results.”

According to Traffic Control Founder Brendan Hurley, users of both companies’ solutions should not expect to see higher costs for the products due to the integration of their systems.

“Auto/Mate’s integration process is very affordable which is great because we don’t have to pass high integration and certification costs through to our dealer customers,” Hurley said. “We share Auto/Mate’s roots: we are car people. The familiarity and ease that dealers experience using Auto/Mate is shared by Traffic Control users.”

Auto/Mate Announces Integration With Scan123

ALBANY, N.Y. — Auto/Mate Dealership Systems today announced the integration of its dealership management system (DMS) with Scan123’s electronic document management system. Auto dealerships using Scan123’s solution can now store and access documents through the firm’s Automotive Productivity Management Suite (AMPS) DMS.

According to company officials, the integration is designed to help dealers transition to a paperless environment, streamline workflow and comply with federal law.

“The ability to instantly retrieve information from a DMS allows employees to quickly answer inquiries from partners and customers, increasing productivity and customer satisfaction,” said Mike Esposito, president and CEO of Auto/Mate Dealership Systems. “With a document management solution, your employees may never have to say, ‘Let me look that up and get back to you.’”

Scan123’s electronic document management solution is designed to increase productivity; back up files while reducing filing costs associated with folders, filing cabinets and storage fees; restrict access to sensitive files with granular user permissions; and allow for secure access of files with a 256-bit encrypted Internet connection.

“Integrating our system with Auto/Mate’s DMS was inexpensive and relatively easy due to the Open/Mate integration program, which is based on open standards [so that third-party vendors can easily integrate with the DMS],” said Gordon Vavrek, Sales Manager with Scan123. “Integration with a top tier DMS provider allows us to expand our customer base and improve our service to our current customers that use Auto/Mate’s DMS.”

Auto/Mate Offers A Resource for Better Hiring Practices

ALBANY, N.Y. — Auto/Mate Dealership Systems has released a free e-book titled “The Auto Dealer’s Ten Step Guide to Hiring the Best Employees.” The guide is designed to help dealerships minimize employee turnover and improve hiring practices.

The e-book reveals the bottom-line costs associated with a bad hiring decision, and shares best practices to help auto dealers avoid common hiring mistakes. It also guides dealers through the following steps to making a good hiring decision:

  • Create a detailed job description for each position
  • Define qualities necessary for a culture fit
  • Develop an exciting job advertisement
  • Have a marketing plan for your job openings
  • Source candidates
  • Create and stick to a hiring process
  • Hone your interviewing techniques
  • Set realistic expectations for candidates
  • Set realistic expectations internally
  • Vet all candidates

In 2014, the average turnover rate for sales consultants in dealerships was 72%, while the average turnover rate for all employees in dealerships was 39%, according to the 2015 NADA Dealership Workforce Study. In non-luxury dealerships, the average sales turnover rate skyrocketed to 80%. Additionally, 28% of all terminations happened within the first 90 days and 41% of sales turnover happened within 90 days.

“These statistics tell us that many dealers are making common hiring mistakes such as hiring too quickly, not having an established hiring process and not vetting candidates properly,” said Dave Druzynski, director of human resources for Auto/Mate. “Many dealerships don’t have a dedicated human resources professional on staff so they are not familiar with the techniques and tools available to help them establish a successful hiring process.”

In 2015 Auto/Mate ranked No. 1 on the “Top Workplaces” list in the mid-size business category for the greater New York capital region, the fourth time the firm made the list. It is compiled annually by Workplace Dynamics and the Times-Union. Auto/Mate has also been voted a “Best Place to Work” five years running by the Albany Business Review.
